This Privacy Policy explains how Rah ("Rah", "we", "our" or "us") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when students, parents or guardians use the RahEduOnline website, registration services, Olympiads, practice facilities, examinations, learning materials, results, certificates and related services.
By registering a student or using RahEduOnline, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information including:
- Student name, date of birth, gender, grade and school details.
- Student registration number and Olympiad registration details.
- Parent or guardian name, relationship and contact details.
- Email address and mobile number.
- Communication address, city, state and pincode.
- Account login and security information.
- Olympiad selections and academic progression.
- Practice-session and examination activity.
- Answers, scores, results, ranks and certificates.
- Payment order, payment status, transaction reference and invoice information.
- Contact-enquiry information.
- Device, browser, IP address, security logs and other technical information reasonably required for operation, security and fraud prevention.
Rah does not require or intend to store complete card details, UPI PIN, CVV or similar payment credentials. Online payments may be processed through authorised third-party payment gateways under their own security and privacy practices.
2. How We Use Information
Personal information may be used to:
- Create and maintain a student account.
- Verify student and parent or guardian information.
- Process Olympiad registrations and payments.
- Determine applicable Grade Fees and one-time Olympiad registration fees.
- Preserve previous Olympiad registration history so that an eligible student is not charged the same one-time Olympiad registration fee again.
- Allow a student to progress from one grade to another while maintaining registration history.
- Provide practice sessions, examinations and learning material.
- Calculate scores, results and rankings.
- Issue and verify certificates.
- Generate invoices and payment records.
- Send registration, payment, examination, result, certificate, password and service communications.
- Respond to enquiries and support requests.
- Detect misuse, duplicate registrations, fraud or unauthorised activity.
- Maintain system, audit and security records.
- Meet accounting, legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Children and Parent or Guardian Consent
RahEduOnline provides educational services to school students, including students below 18 years of age.
A registration made for a minor is deemed to have been made with the knowledge and consent of the student's parent or lawful guardian.
The person completing the registration confirms that he or she:
- Is the parent, lawful guardian or is otherwise authorised to register the student.
- Has authority to provide the student's information to Rah.
- Consents to Rah processing the student's information for registration, educational, examination, payment, result and certificate purposes.
For Grade 1, Rah uses 6 years as the minimum age guideline.
Rah does not knowingly use children's personal information for behavioural or targeted advertising.
4. Parent or Guardian Presence During Examinations
For Grade 1 students, a parent or guardian should be present or immediately available while the student takes an online examination.
The parent or guardian may assist only with genuine technical or accessibility issues. The parent or guardian must not:
- Suggest answers.
- Provide academic assistance during the examination.
- Operate the examination on behalf of the student.
- Complete any part of the examination for the student.
Rah may invalidate an examination attempt where unauthorised assistance or unfair conduct is detected.
5. Payment Information
Rah may collect transaction information including:
- Payment order number.
- Amount payable.
- Payment gateway order or payment reference.
- Payment status.
- Refund reference, where applicable.
Sensitive payment credentials are generally handled directly by the authorised payment gateway and are not stored by Rah.
6. Data Sharing
Rah may share information only when reasonably necessary with:
- Payment service providers.
- Email and communication service providers.
- Hosting, infrastructure and technology service providers.
- Professional advisers or auditors where required.
- Government, regulatory or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is legally required.
Rah does not sell student or parent personal information.
7. Data Retention
Rah maintains student registration and academic history for legitimate continuing purposes including:
- Maintaining an active student account.
- Grade progression.
- Determining whether a one-time Olympiad registration fee was previously paid.
- Payment and accounting history.
- Results and academic records.
- Certificate issuance and verification.
- Fraud prevention and security.
- Legal, tax, regulatory and audit requirements.
Accordingly, some records may be retained for a long period while the student relationship or another legitimate purpose continues.
Rah may erase or anonymise personal information when the purpose for retaining it has ended and further retention is not required or permitted by applicable law.
Certain transaction, audit, security or legal records may be retained for the period required under applicable law.
8. Security
Rah uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users are responsible for keeping their account credentials and passwords confidential.
9. Cookies, Sessions and Technical Logs
RahEduOnline may use cookies, sessions and similar technologies for:
- Login and authentication.
- Security.
- Remember-me functionality where selected.
- Registration and payment continuity.
- CSRF protection.
- Fraud and abuse prevention.
- Website functionality.
Technical logs may include IP address, browser information, date and time and relevant application activity.
10. Student Results and Certificates
Student results are displayed only according to Rah publication settings.
Certificates may include a public verification token or QR code so that a person possessing the certificate can verify its validity.
Public certificate-verification pages are intended only for verification purposes and are configured not to be indexed by search engines.
11. Rights and Requests
A student, parent or guardian may contact Rah concerning:
- Personal information held by Rah.
- Correction of inaccurate information.
- Account or privacy questions.
- Appropriate deletion or erasure requests, subject to legitimate retention requirements.
- Withdrawal of consent where applicable and legally available.
- Privacy grievances.
Some information cannot immediately be deleted where Rah is required to retain it for accounting, payment, certificate, security, legal or regulatory purposes.
12. Updates to this Privacy Policy
Rah may update this Privacy Policy where necessary because of changes to its services, technology, operational requirements or applicable law. The updated version will be published on RahEduOnline with a revised effective date.
